Responsible for the software development activities related to the Workbench-based products: DesignSpace, ANSYS Geometry Processor (AGP), and DesignXplorer (DX). Reporting to the VP of Development of the Mechanical Business Unit. Development group consists of 22 developers. Responsible also for capital expenditures for the entire development department (4 development groups total). Leveraged language skills in support of ANSYS business development in Latin America traveling to the region annually.

Director, Development Services (1999-2002)

Responsible for system integration, product security, software internationalization and online help system of the ANSYS, and DesignSpace product line. Reporting to the Senior VP of Product Creation. Department consists of 35 professionals, with a budget of $4 million. Active member of the corporate Capital Committee, representing the Product Creation Division. Leveraged language skills in support of ANSYS business development in Latin America traveling to the region annually.

Development Manager, DesignSpace Team (1997-1999)

Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Engineering. Responsible for overall management of the award winning DesignSpace analysis simulation application. Responsible for overall management of the 18 team members including managing a budget of over $2.5 million, development schedule, tool selection and procurement, as well as primary interface to Marketing and Sales. Extensive interaction with customers within key ANSYS accounts to assure product design met overall objectives. Directly responsible for over eight product releases supporting six CAD packages in a two-year period.

Release Manager, DesignSpace Team (1996-1997)

Responsible for all aspects of initial product release for award winning DesignSpace analysis simulation product. This effort involved working with an “entrepreneurial” team incubated within ANSYS to develop a new and innovative approach to engineering simulation. Overcame issues ranging from cultural barriers, personnel clashes, and process development resulting in over five product releases in a 24-month period.

Various technical leadership positions (1987-1996)

Held several positions including Technical Support. Most recent assignment during this period included full responsibility for the port of an ANSYS UNIX version to MS-DOS, and then Windows NT.

Senior Engineer, Beaumont, Texas

Active in the challenging field of design and analysis, of mobile offshore drilling structures for use primarily in the Gulf of Mexico. Additionally provided programming support to the entire engineering staff during the early days of the Personal Computer, automating many manual engineering procedures.
